ABSTRACT:
Plasma lipid levels are reduced by internally administering to a mammal a binuclear phenol. The two aromatic rings may be bonded together directly as in 4,4'-bis(2,6-di-tert-butylphenol). Likewise, the aromatic rings may be bonded through a bridging group such as --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --, --SO--, --S.sub.m --, --O--CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2 --O--, --CH.sub.2 --SO.sub.2 --, --CH.sub.2 --S.sub.n --CH.sub.2 --, --CH.sub.2 --O--CH.sub.2 --, and ##STR1##
