ABSTRACT:
A projecting nose from the grooved body is engaged in a stirrup to retain the boot on the ridge of a cross-country ski to which the stirrup is pivotally connected by an axis transverse to the ridge. An outer stirrup can be swung relative to the inner stirrup to cause a rod to rise in arcuate windows of the inner stirrup and thereby lift the nose of the boot and clamp it against the fixed crosspiece of the inner stirrup. A detent plate pivotal on an outer stirrup can releasably latch the outer stirrup relative to the inner stirrup.
