ABSTRACT:
A bicycle chain having link plates connected to be oscillatable relative to one another within a predetermined range of flexion. To determine the range of flexion, outer link plates include engaged members, and inner link plates include engaging members for engaging the engaged members. A maximum range of flexion of the chain is determined by contact between the engaged members and engaging members. This maximum range of flexion is determined to enable the chain to be wound around the smallest pulley of a speed changer or derailleur.
