A beverage bottling plant for filling bottles with a liquid beverage filling material, and a container filling lifting device for lifting containers in container filling machines. The lifting device is designed to lift a container, such as a bottle, to a first level for filling in the absence of counterpressure, and to a second, different level for filling under counterpressure.
