##STR1## Compounds of formula (I), wherein R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, X, m, n, o, p, q and r are as defined below. The compounds are memory enhancing cholinesterase inhibitors useful in enhancing memory, novel intermediates used in their synthesis, and analgesic agents.
