ABSTRACT:
A belt sander having a vertically slotted casing for receiving an idler shaft; a crowned idler pully rotatably mounted on the idler shaft; a crowned, power driven drive pully rotatably mounted on the casing; a guide shaft attached perpendicular to the idler shaft; a first alignment plate attached to the casing interior; a second alignment plate slideably mating the casing interior between the first alignment plate and the idler shaft, said plates being bored to slideably receive the guide shaft; and a spring mounted in compression between the alignment plates.
