A freight hauling vessel (10) has a deck (12) with sets of railroad tracks (14) for rail cars (64), enabling rail cars to be rolled onto and off of the deck. Upright rows of stanchions (18) support standardized freight containers (63) spanning betwe the rows and over the rail cars.
