ABSTRACT:
A Gram-negative bacterial strain,Pseudomonas nitroreducensTX1 (BCRC910228) isolated from the surfactant-contaminated drainage sediment is described. This strain is shown to have the capacity in utilizing alkylphenol polyethoxylates as a sole source of carbon and energy to grow. Furthermore, it can be grown on a high concentration of alkylphenol polyethoxylates in an aqueous environment. This strain can be applied in the remediation of organic polymers-contaminated water and soil.
