Disclosed is a member for display apparatus used in a display apparatus comprising a back panel1on which electron sources are provided and a front panel2that are disposed to oppose the back panel1via spacers3, said member comprising a ceramic that has a Young's modulus (E) of not lower than 120 GPa, a specific rigidity (E/ρ) of not lower than 40×109cm, a coefficient of linear expansion of 7.5×10−6to 10×10−6/° C. in a temperature range from ordinary temperature to 400° C., and a void-occupying area ratio of 6% or less. This member allows it to prevent the accuracy of the apparatus from lowering and cracks from occurring.
