ABSTRACT:
A new and distinct variety of Azalea found as a seedling in a planned cross between the female Azalea `Sweet Briar` and the male Rhododendron oldhamii `Fourth of July`. The new variety possesses a unique blooming time and is superior in development of an upright, dense, and globose shaped plant with attractive single red-purple flowers.
