ABSTRACT:
An axial gap electrical machine employs a coil assembly embedded in epoxy and coated with a rubbery substance having different degrees of hardness.
Two magnet assemblies straddle a central coil assembly. The magnet assemblies each include a back iron casting located on the sides of the magnet assemblies away from the central coil assembly.
