ABSTRACT:
An axially-flow fan motor structure of the type having an external rotor of a rotor stack and short-circuit rings, a stator structure and a rotor shaft with a fitting for connecting the external rotor for rotation about the stator structure, wherein the fitting is a flat metal sheet having anchoring elements about the peripheral edge extending at an angle .alpha. of less than 45.degree. with respect to the plane of the sheeet. Thus, by this structure, improvements in the fan efficiency can be effected, particularly since the anchoring elements can be further spaced from the rotor pack. A further improvement can be provided in this structure by the use of a shaded-pole stator wherein the coil structure dimensions, radially and axially, of the stator are confined within defined boundaries.
