ABSTRACT:
A multiplex communication system used in an automobile achieves a low-power-consumption operation of a plurality of child stations. The multiplex communication system includes a parent station having a judging unit for judging whether or not a present communication mode of the communication system corresponds to one of a normal communication mode and a low-power-consumption mode, and a control unit for controlling the parent station and a child station to enter either a normal or a low-power communication mode. The system also includes at least one child station having a first detection unit for detecting a normal operation condition of the child station, a second detection unit for detecting that no input signal is being supplied from the parent station to the child station, and a condition changing unit for changing a low-power consumption operation of the parent station into a normal operation condition based on outputs of the first and second detection units.
