ABSTRACT:
Disclosed herein are aPichia pastoris-derived auto-inducible NPS promoter; a recombinant expression vector carrying the promoter and a nucleotide sequence, the sequence being operably linked to the promoter and coding for a recombinant protein; a host cell transformed or transfected with the recombinant expression vector; and a method for producing a recombinant protein, comprising culturing the host cell to express the recombinant protein and isolating the protein. The NPS promoter allows a recombinant protein of interest to be produced on a large scale without the need of any inducer.
