ABSTRACT:
A multi-part piston assembly for an internal-combustion engine having at least one cylinder. The assembly has a skirt with a threaded member connected thereto, the skirt being adapted to fit into the cylinder for reciprocal movement, and has a removable piston head that has an threaded bore therein adapt:ed to receive the skirt's threaded member removably attach the piston head to the skin. The removable piston head has rings mounted thereon and is adapted to fit into the cylinder for reciprocation with the skirt. A lock screw that locks the piston head to the skirt when the piston head and skirt are attached for use.
