ABSTRACT:
Continuous, aspheric optical molds for reshaping the surface of the cornea having an inner concave surface matched to the topography of the cornea. The curvatures of the molds are modified from a curve matched to a patient's corneal topography to include a flattened pressure zone applying relative pressure and thereby displacing underlying corneal tissue, a steepened relief zone raised away from the surface of the cornea to receive displaced corneal tissue, and a flattened anchor zone to control and direct movement of displaced corneal tissue into the relief zones.
