ABSTRACT:
Glass fibers, either in the form of individual filaments or bundles of glass fibers, which have been coated with a chemically-modified asphalt prepared by reacting a bituminous material with a chromium complex. The coated fibers can be used as reinforcement for bitumen or bitumen plus aggregate to securely tie the glass fiber surfaces to the bitumen.
