ABSTRACT:
A thermally-transferred color filter array element comprising a transparent support having thereon a thermally-transferred image comprising a repeating mosaic pattern of colorants in a receiving layer, one of the colorants being a phenyl or thienyl azoaniline blue dye. In a preferred embodiment, the dye has the following formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 each independently represents hdyrogen; a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group of from 1 to about 6 carbon atoms; a cycloalkyl group of from about 5 to about 7 carbon atoms; or a substituted or unsubstituted aryl or hetaryl group of from about 6 to about 10 carbon atoms;
