ABSTRACT:
A system for measuring the angular displacement of a signal source relative o the center line of an array type transducer. The sum and difference signals of the array are applied to the system which phase shifts the incoming signals, provides a summation of selected phase shifted signals and applies the summed signals to a phase detector. A normalized signal is derived that is an amplitude measurement indicative of the angle between the signal source, and a line incident normal to the array, wherein the sum is a maximum and the difference is zero.
