ABSTRACT:
An arrangement for printing flat workpieces is provided and includes an application roller which rolls on the workpiece surface6to be printed and thereby applies a printed image to the workpiece surface8, the application roller forming a printing cylinder5or a transfer roller1cooperating with a printing cylinder5, a counter-roller2which forms in cooperation with the application roller a printing gap3, through which the workpiece4passes during the printing process, and a transport device7for feeding the workpiece4into and out of the printing gap3formed by the application roller and the counter-roller2. A detector device8is present in the direction of transport of the workpiece4, before the printing gap3, for detecting the position of a workpiece front end9or an image beginning mark, and cooperates with the transport device7, 11and/or the printing cylinder5; wherein the transport of the workpiece4, prior to reaching the printing gap3, is accelerated or delayed and/or the angular position of the printing cylinder5can be changed by accelerating or delaying its rotational motion in order to bring into agreement the beginning of the printed image with the workpiece front end9or a determined relative position thereof.
