ABSTRACT:
An aromatic compound of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is, the same or different, a halogen atom, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl group, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 haloalkyl group, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkoxy group or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 haloalkoxy group; R.sup.2 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; R.sup.3 is, the same or different, a halogen atom, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl group, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 haloalkyl group, a C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 alkoxy group or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 haloalkoxy group, or two adjacent R.sup.3 s may be combined together to represent a C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 alkylenedioxy group optionally bearing one or two substituents selected from halogen and methyl; p is an integer of 2 to 5; q is an integer of 0 to 5, which is useful for control of insect pests.
