A blue organic light emitting diode (LED) comprises a cathode formed on a substrate, a light emitting layer formed on said cathode, and an anode formed on said light emitting layer, which is characterized in that said light emitting layer comprises a compound of the following formulas I or II:wherein Ar1and Ar2independently are substituted or unsubstituted isochrysenylin-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?Ar1—Ar2 Iin-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?in-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="lead"?Ar1—Ar3—Ar2 IIin-line-formulae description="In-line Formulae" end="tail"?(triphenylenyl), anthracenyl, naphthalyl, biphenyl, pyrenyl, or phenanthrenyl; Ar3is substituted or unsubstituted phenylene, biphenylene, naphthylene, anthracenylene, or fluorenylene.
