ABSTRACT:
An aqueous ink composition is described which contains water-soluble dye dissolved in water, the dye comprising at least one water-soluble azo dye represented by formula (I) ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents an amino group, R.sub.2 represents an alkyl group, and M represents a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal, an ammonium group or an organic amine group. The aqueous ink composition of the invention is suited for ink-jet printing.
