ABSTRACT:
An enclosed aquaculture system for growing fish comprises several successively interconnected container stages for holding growing fish. Each of the container stages has a size larger than the container stage preceding it, continuous interconnections between the container stages and a gate within the continuous interconnections controll the movement of the fish as the fish swim between the container stages. Fish of substantially the same size are maintained in each container stage as they are growing to prevent predatory destruction of smaller fish by larger fish and stress free transfer fo fish is provided as they swim form one container stage to another. In addition, methods for the continuous growing of fish in such an enclosed aquaculture system are disclosed.
