ABSTRACT:
Apparatus for uniformly wetting a curvilinear surface of a length of tubing with solvent or other liquid. A wetting element such as a block of porous material has a curvilinear portion with a shape complemental to the shape of the surface to be wetted. The liquid is supplied to the wetting element by capillary action through a porous block or a sponge and passes into and through the wetting element, wetting the curvilinear portion. When the tubing to be wetted is brought into close contact with the curvilinear protein, the liquid is transferred to the tubing, forming a uniform coating on the surface thereof. Compressed air may be applied to the liquid through a pulse valve to urge the liquid into the wetting element as needed to re-wet the wetting element.
