An apparatus is provided for holding and stabilizing an implement for making marks on a substrate, said apparatus comprising an upstanding pedestal; a plurality of legs attached to said pedestal and extending in a substantially horizontal direction therefrom; and means, attached to said pedestal, for gripping an implement.
