ABSTRACT:
An apparatus for reproducing image signals has a code arranging device that adds a flag to a data signal so as to produce a coded data signal. The apparatus also has a recording device that records the coded data signal onto the magnetic tape and a reproducing device the reads the magnetic tape and reproduces the coded data signal. In addition, the apparatus has a flag detecting device that detects the flag within the coded data signal. A decoding device is used to decode the coded data signal. The apparatus has a recording position presuming device that presumes a position where intra-frame coded data is recorded on the magnetic tape. A reproducing control device controls the speed at which the reproducing device operates. Further, the apparatus has a device for outputting, at a cycle that is based on a speed multiplying coefficient, a decoded signal, which is based on a reproduced data signal.
