ABSTRACT:
A method and apparatus for rearing fish in natural waters in a confined area by monitoring key criteria of the natural waters and monitoring the feeding and weight gain of fish in the confining means on a systematic basis. An apparatus for raising fish in an enclosed environment in natural waters comprising: (a) means for enclosing and maintaining the fish in a confined location in naturally occurring waters; (b) means for feeding and culling the fish within the enclosing means; (c) means for monitoring water quality, weight gain and disease in each fish retained in the enclosing means; and (d) means for retaining an air pocket within the enclosing means.
