ABSTRACT:
An apparatus for making buns has a bun forming unit which includes a housing receiving a rotatable plate having a central circular opening, and die pieces of elongate shape provided on the plate substantially in a radial direction. The die pieces are pivoted at their intermediate portions to the top inner side of the housing, and engage at their outer ends with the plate. The inner portions of the die pieces extend into the opening of the plate and each of them are provided with a cutting edge and a forming face at their inner tapered end. The die pieces can move to and from a forming position upon an intermittent motion of the plate within a limited angle.
