ABSTRACT:
A method and apparatus for optimizing the injecting of NO.sub.x inhibiting liquid reagent into the flue gas of a utility or industrial type boiler to reduce emissions of NO.sub.x including a temperature sensor for measuring the boiler flue gas temperature and a moveable conduit for injecting the NO.sub.x inhibiting reagent into the flue gas at a sensed predetermined temperature range.
