ABSTRACT:
A method and apparatus are described for modifying the operation of a grinding machine in accordance with the angular position of a workpiece being ground. In addition to conventional apparatus, the improved apparatus comprises means for sensing the angular position of the workpiece with respect to a grinding tool, a memory device for producing output signals when the workpiece is at at least one predetermined angular position and means for adjusting at least one of the position of the grinding tool, the speed of the grinding tool, the lateral movement of the grinding tool across the workpiece, and the speed at which the workpiece is moved in response to said output signals as the grinding tool is being fed into the workpiece.
