ABSTRACT:
An apparatus for removing and remounting large nuts which are associated with bolts provided in a pressure vessel assembly under a remote control, with the apparatus comprising a station being movable in a circumferential and radial direction, a lifting arm for driving a frame vertically close to and apart from the station, a motor mounted on the frame, a nut driving unit provided with pawls, each of which is engageable with a radial groove formed on an end surface of the large nut, a nut lifting chuck provided at a distal end portion of the nut driving unit, and a transmission for transmitting a driving force from the motor to the nut driving unit through the pawls.
