ABSTRACT:
The invention concerns an electrophoretic process for the investigation, analysis, and/or production, especially immunoelectrophoretic, of chemical substances, in which the substances are transported in aqueous solution in a gel carrier medium. For inhibiting or stabilizing convective transport under the action of an electric field, the aqueous solution contains reagents which form precipitates with the substances to be determined quantitatively. Due to electrophoretic transport in the aqueous phase of the carrier medium these reagents result in the production of precipitation over a migration distance which is proportional to the amount of the substances being determined.
