ABSTRACT:
Apparatus for drying webs or sheets of moist material which issues from a printing machine and is transported continously or stepwise to be acted upon by ultraviolet light issuing from one or more lamps mounted at a level above the path of movement of the material. The lamp or lamps are pivotable, reciprocable and/or otherwise movable in and counter to the direction of movement of the material, toward and away from the material and/or transversely of the path. A cooling device is installed at a level below the path to directly contact or to indirectly remove heat from the material opposite the lamp or lamps.
