ABSTRACT:
An apparatus for discriminating valuable papers is provided wherein a validation control circuit56(i) drives conveyer device8to inwardly move bill along passageway9when inlet sensor13detects bill, (ii) ceases driving of conveyer device8to keep bill in the standby position in passageway9when trigger sensor50detects bill, (iii) drives a release device42to shift a guide roller40from the contact position to the separated position, (iv) activates a centering device10to centralize bill along the longitudinal central axis of passageway9, (v) drives release device42to return guide roller40from the separated position to the contact position, and (vi) again drives conveyer device8to further inwardly move bill. When bill is inserted into an inlet7, inlet sensor13detects bill to immediately drive conveyer device8and center bill on conveyer device8for smooth inserting, transporting and centering of bill with the reduced number of structural components of the apparatus.
