ABSTRACT:
An apparatus for detoxifying body fluid has a columnar hollow container with an inlet and an outlet for body fluid. This container is filled with non-coated petroleum pitch activated carbon particles which have been washed by ultrasonic waves to a degree that the number of carbon dust fine particles released in a physiologically acceptable solution is less than 100 particles/ml for particles of more than 2.mu. diameter and less than 10 particles/ml for particles of more than 5.mu. diameter.
