ABSTRACT:
A rotation-detecting apparatus includes a U-shaped support member, a rod at least one end of which is held to the support member, a vibrating sheet mounted to the rod, piezoelectric ceramic sheets mounted on the vibrating sheet, a torsion detector for detecting the rotation of the vibrating member relative to the rod, and an oscillator circuit for activating the piezoelectric sheets to vibrate the vibrating sheet. The Coriolis force produced on the vibrating sheet is converted into a twist of the rod and detected.
