ABSTRACT:
A power control apparatus for an audio/video system includes an audio/video center having a main controller, a sub-controller, a memory, a display, and a selector for selecting a signal for display. A number of other audio/video units are connected to the audio/video center and are controlled by the main controller through the sub-controller, which passes commands and connection requests in both directions between the other audio/video units and the main controller. Upon a connection request from one of the other audio/video units fed to the main controller, the main controller determines whether the connection is the same as a previous connection and, if not, after a set time has elapsed the main controller through the sub-controller turns off the power to the previously connected audio/video unit.
