ABSTRACT:
An apparatus includes at least one optical fiber device including a region, and a ferrule having an aperture therethrough filled with a metal alloy securing material therein. The metal alloy securing material is softened responsive to application of energy thereto, and the region of the optical fiber device is inserted therethrough for securing to the aperture of the ferrule.
