ABSTRACT:
A method and apparatus for placing prewound windings into the grooves of stator coils and armatures in which needles are employed to insert the stator coils into the grooves. During insertion, the needles are displaced with a feeding movement in a longitudinal direction to the slots thereby obviating damage to the wires during their insertion. During insertion both the needles with the inserted coils and cover slide are enabled to move to promote the insertion procedure and without causing damage to the coils in the process of such insertion.
