ABSTRACT:
An autoclave extraction apparatus using supercritical fluid is used for supercritical fluid extraction of one or several compounds. The supercritical fluid containing the compound(s) may then be processed in a pressurized bed reactor under supercritical conditions. The bed being a fluidizable catalytic bed to carry out a catalytic reaction of the compound(s).
The method is particularly applicable to recover valuable lignin and other extractable components from kraft black liquor.
