ABSTRACT:
Apparatus and methods for winding a wire around a periphery of a structure. The wire is connected to the structure and then pulled around that structure in a manner that produces a high tension in a portion of the wire and that winds that high tension portion of the wire around the structure. The high tension portion of the wire is monitored to detect any flaws in the wire coating or cover, and the locations of these flaws are recorded.
