ABSTRACT:
An apparatus and method for measuring the pressure of a fluid near discharge ports409in a nozzle213of a fuel injector201are described. A fuel injector201is charged with fluid from a fluid tank203by a fuel pump205. Upon activation of the fuel injector201, the fluid is discharged from the nozzle213. Fluid pressure in the nozzle213is communicated to a pressure sensor215through an orifice411in the nozzle213. The pressure sensor215measures fluid pressure near the discharge ports409during fuel injector201operation.
