A sugar-cholestanol compound which can be readily synthesized and which exhibits a satisfactory antitumor activity. An anticancer agent containing, as an active ingredient, a cholestanol compound represented by the following formula (1):or a cyclodextrin inclusion complexation containing the compound. A method for treating cancer using this compound.
