ABSTRACT:
A polymeric antistatic agent suitable for use in a polyester fiber, the antistatic agent is a polyester containing azelaic acid units and 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-propanediol units, and capped polyether units where the cap is ##STR1## or --C.sub.x H.sub.2x+1 and X is 12 to 16. The antistatic agent preferably contains tetra alkyl phosphonium isophthalate units. Polyester fibers containing these antistatic agents is also disclosed.
