ABSTRACT:
A compound having antimicrobial activity of the following general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is hydrogen or hydroxy, R.sup.2 is hydrogen or hydroxy, R.sup.3 is hydroxy or hydroxysulfonyloxy, with proviso that when R.sup.1 is hydrogen, R.sup.2 is hydrogen, or a phamaceutically acceptable salt thereof. The compound can be used in a method for treating infectious diseases caused by pathogenic microorganism.
