ABSTRACT:
An inorganic anticmirobial composition has the the formula AB.sub.2 O.sub.4 wherein A and B are low temperature far infrared irradiating metals, A is Mg, Zn, Mn, Ni, Co, or Fe(II), B is Al, Cr(III), Mn(III) or Fe(III), and O is oxygen. An antimicrobial article is made by coating said composition on a porous honeycomb-shaped substrate. An organic antimicrobal article is made from a quarternary ammonium salt coated on a porous honeycomb-shaped substrate. Processes of making the antimicrobial articles are provided.
