Antiinflammatory 4,5-diaryl-1H-imidazole-2-methanols, such as 4,5-bis(4-fluorophenyl)-.alpha.,.alpha.-di(trifluoromethyl)-1H-imidazole-2 -methanol are useful in treatment of arthritis.
