ABSTRACT:
An antifouling composition for use in the control of noxious aquatic life comprising as an active ingredient, one or more phenol derivatives of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is a C.sub.3 .about.C.sub.21 saturated hydrocarbon residue; X.sub.1 .about.X.sub.5 each is H, HO or CH.sub.3 O, providing excluding the case wherein all of X.sub.1 .about.X.sub.5 are hydrogen.
This composition is useful as an antifouling paint for marine structures, ships, fishnets, buoys, industrial water system, water cooling system and the like.
