ABSTRACT:
[N-hydroxymethyl)-N-(1,3-dihydroxymethyl-2,5-dioxo-4-imidazolidinyl)-N'-( hydroxymethyl)urea] A reaction product prepared by the reaction of allantoin and formaldehyde is disclosed. The [compound] reaction product exhibits activity against bacteria, mold and yeast and hence is useful as a preservative for products susceptable to microbial contamination.
